GlobalFest 2008
Join us Friday October 10. at the Recreation and Physical Activity Center (RPAC) for a day of performances and activities. Market Day begins at 10 a.m. and the late-night activities begin at 9 p.m. All activities are open to all Ohio State students, faculty, and staff. Market Day FREE Visit the Richard Larkins Plaza from 10 a.m.- 3 p.m. to experience the Globalfest Market Day. Featuring cultural costumes, international games, international instruments and performances this is your way to experience different cultures without leaving Columbus. You can also learn about the foods of the world presented with assistance from Campus Dining. A full performance schedule will be posted closer to the day of the event. Study Abroad Fair and Global Fest . . . a Celebration of Cultures Explore opportunities to study abroad and ways to be involved internationally on the Columbus campus of The Ohio State University Tom W. Davis Special Events Gym 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. NEW FedEx Ground Skills Challenge New to this year is the FedEx Ground Skills Challenge. The Skills Challenge will be held on October 10 at the Lincoln Tower Park Turf Field from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The skills challenge is free and open to anyone in the OSU community. There will be prizes for individual champions of each skill and an overall champion. Walk-In Registration: Show up to register anytime between 6:30-8:30 p.m. to compete!
Cost: Free
Skills Events: Penalty kick for fastest speed, soccer ball juggling for time , penalty kick for accuracy, place kicks for distance and accuracy, and a skill course for time which includes throw-ins, passing, dribbling, and shooting.
Awards: Plaques will be given to the top male and female participants in each of the five skills challenges. One overall male and female award winner will also be determined and awarded a trophy.
FedEx Ground World Cup Tournament Sold Out
Captain’s Meeting: October 8 at 6 p.m. in the RPAC meeting rooms #1-2.
Where: Games will be played in the ARC.
Tournament Format: Each team will be placed in a 3 team pool in which they play 2 pool play games. The top 2 teams in each pool will advance to a single elimination tournament.
Game Times (teams will need to be able to play at any time listed):
Pool Play Sunday, October 12 1- 8 p.m Monday, October 13 6 p.m.- Midnight
Tournament Wednesday, October 15 6 p.m.- Midnight Thursday, October 16 6 p.m.- 10 p.m. Friday, October 17 7:30 p.m.-10 p.m.

Moonlight Madness Late Night Friday, October 10, 9 p.m. - Midnight In one evening you can play a new international card game, participate in a Sport Club clinic or show us what you've got by participating in the talent show. Students who participate in GlobalFest’s late-night activities will have the chance to win a number of great prizes. Prizes include a Nintendo Wii, a $150 travel voucher, a iPod Nano and over $300 in gift cards.Registrations for the talent show will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis.
