Two-Week Advance Notice
To process paperwork and acquire the necessary approvals, we require a minimum of two weeks advance notice. Any request
not providing two weeks notice will only be considered if staff time permits. Large events may require more than two weeks
notice. Members are always welcome to join existing open recreation without a reservation. Please feel free to review our
open recreation schedule.
Special Event Times
Groups may hold special events on Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays. All of the facilities are typically
occupied during the week with departmental programs, such as physical activity and educational services (PAES)
classes, open recreation, intramurals, and sport club practices.
The Outdoor Adventure Center's Climbing Wall is ONLY available for reservation during the following times:
- Fridays: After 10:00 p.m.
- Saturdays: 8:00 a.m. - Noon, and after 8:00 p.m.
- Sundays: 8:00 a.m. - Noon
Additional Fees
Personnel fees will be charged for special events that are held outside of the facility's hours of operation in order to monitor the event
and maintain facility operations. Aquatic events may also be assessed with additional fees. You will be provided an estimate of these charges on the
approved confirmation form.
All special events utilizing the Outdoor Adventure Center’s climbing wall will be assessed a belayer fee
to assist climbers on the wall. One belayer for every five climbers will be assigned to the group.
University Department/Academic Unit Rentals
Ohio State University departments renting space from the Department of Recreational Sports will be assessed a rental
fee at a 50% discounted rate. A 100W must be provided at least 3 days prior to the scheduled event.
Coca-Cola Policy
The university has an exclusive beverage contract with the Coca-Cola Company that must be complied with by
any group serving beverages in any facility at the Ohio State University.

Please note: The RPAC is not a banquet facility. It is not equipped with the amenities of such a space.
