Trainers
Personal trainers are here to assist you with your wellness and fitness goals. Trainers first assess your fitness level and then tailor a personal exercise program for you based on those assessments. All personal training staff are certified in CPR/AED procedures.
Anner Arroyo is a 4th year majoring in biology with an emphasis in bio-chemistry and Minor in human nutrition. He is a NSCA Certified Personal Trainer (CPT). He also has 7 years of wrestling experience and currently wrestling at OSU. Anner has 8 years of weight training experience and 3 years of bodybuilding experience. He has competed and placed in top 3 in six power lifting competitions. "I love working at the RPAC because it serves as a home away from home, and having the opportunity to teach people what I know and love is a great joy for me!"
Jim Giudice is a fourth year finance major and is also pursuing a minor in exercise science. Jim is an endurance athlete with a well-rounded sports background. He received varsity letters in high school for soccer, indoor and outdoor track, cross country, and wrestling. Jim is a WITS certified personal trainer. He believes physical fitness is the basis for success in all aspects of life and looks forward to helping you live a better life through health and fitness!
Samantha Brys is a second year student majoring in biology with hopes of continuing into veterinary medicine. Sam has always been involved in athletics which includes basketball for over eight years, track & field (one year), indoor soccer, volleyball, and softball for two years, and Equestrian horseback riding for ten years! She served as the co-captain of the girls’ varsity basketball team for two years at JFK High School. Sam also had the privilege of coaching girls youth basketball camps while in high school.
Chris Basil is a fourth year student majoring in Psychology. Chris is a WITS certified personal trainer with one and a half years of experience. After graduation, Chris has plans to attend Central Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO to earn a Master’s of Divinity. There, he will work as a pastor and continue his career as a part-time personal fitness trainer.
Chris Early is a second year at Ohio State studying psychology and exercise science with W.I.T.S. personal training certification. He comes from a background of being involved in and around sports, which still heavily influences his training philosophies today. When finished with school his aspirations are to open a chiropractic practice and coach strength and conditioning at a high school level.
Shelicia Brown is a second year student from Pickerington, OH majoring in Mass Communications and Textile & Clothing. She enjoys working out, shopping, and playing softball. Shell currently conducts new member orientations and Free Motion clinics at the RPAC. Shell plans on working in the field of public relations and fashion journalism.
Derek Busse is third year student majoring in sport and leisure studies. Throughout his high school career, he was involved in football, basketball, and track & field. From Cooperstown, NY, he has been a member of the Clarks Sports Center for fifteen years and learned at an early age to make exercise fun and enjoyable! With his involvement with intramural sports at Ohio State, Derek knows the RPAC offers great variety to students whatever their interests may be. He's looking forward to beginning his first year assisting people in achieving and maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle.
Steven Niedermeier is a second year student majoring in Biochemistry. Involved in a myriad of sports in high school, Steven brings that experience to Ohio State while instructing our Men's Rugby weight training and Free Motion programs as well as conducting our new member equipment orientations. Steven has aspirations of attending medical school and becoming an orthopedic surgeon.
Jillian Hanes is a second year student majoring in Circulation Technology. She's an avid volleyball player with a competitive drive and a love for sports. As a Free Motion circuit and Women's Resistance training instructor, her main goal is to help RPAC members reach their fitness goals and become healthier individuals.
Chelsey Beer is a second year student from Lima, OH majoring in Medical Dietetics. At Shawnee High School, she earned 13 varsity awards in diving, cheerleading, basketball, and served as the student athletic trainer for the baseball team. She is also a competitive dancer and cheerleader while serving as the JV diving coach, Premier Athletics cheerleading coach, and a dance instructor and choreographer post high school graduation! Chelsey is a certified lifeguard and conducts the Free Motion, New Member Orientations, and Women's Resistance training classes.
Brian Unverferth is a fourth year student in exercise science. He is also pursuing the Phyiscal Therapy Doctorate program. Brian instructs a Free Motion class. He is an ACSM certified personal trainer and has worked as a personal trainer at Northwest Fitness club in Ottawa, OH. He says he likes to coach good technique with his clientele first and foremost and enjoys watching them achieve both long and short term fitness goals.
Darien Robinson is a fourth year student in pre-computer information systems and has been with the fitness training staff for three years. He is a Free Motion Circuit program instructor and has been a boot camp instructor in the Buck-I-Robics program for four years. Darien is also enrolled in the US Army Reserves.
Ben Barszcz is a fourth year student in mechanical engineering. He is a Free Motion Circuit Instructor and has four years of weight training experience. Ben was involved in high school track & field as a competitor and the team captain. He plays intramural flag football and basketball at Ohio State. "My desire to be involved with the recreational sports program at Ohio State, along with my knowledge of sports and fitness, help make me a good fit for the personal training program."
Grace Capuano is a second year student in biology. She is a Free Motion Circuit and Women’s Weight Training class instructor. Grace has three years experience working with a personal trainer and was a high school varsity cheerleader. Grace says that her top priority is being friendly and cordial at all times.
Sundas Naseer is a third year student in biology (pre-med). She is a WITS certified personal trainer and loves to weight train and run on a daily basis. Sundas says she is looking forward to helping you achieve your fitness goals.
Sarah Fecser is a fourth year student in exercise science and nutrition. She is a WITS certified personal trainer and has seven years of weight training experience. She has been a certified professional lifeguard and a varsity track and cross country runner for five years. Sarah was a gymnast for six years and has been a competitive swimmer for seven. Sarah says that she believes that there are three aspects to a well-rounded fitness lifestyle, variation, consistency, and dedication.
John Birchak is a second year student in microbiology (pre-med) and a minor in entrepreneurship/business. He played four years of high school football at Cincinnati St. Xavier and was during that time was also involved in housing rehabilitation. John was also a track & field runner for four years and team captain for two. He is a National Honor Society Member and an OSU Medical Center volunteer. John says that he has developed ways to get better results from lifting in shorter amounts of time.
Erin Kardine received her BS in exercise science at the University of Delaware. Her studies were concentrated on physiology and strength & conditioning. Erin is currently a student in the College of Dentistry program at Ohio State. She is an NSCA certified strength & conditioning specialist. She was a member of UD’s Varsity Women’s Volleyball program for three years and is an avid marathon runner. Erin plans to own and operate both a dental practice and a sports complex after graduation.
Ryan McFadyen is a third year student majoring in exercise science with plans to enter the Physical Therapy Graduate Program at Ohio State. He is a certified personal trainer through the World Instructor Training Schools (WITS) as well as a State of Ohio Department of Education Pupil Activity Supervisory Permit. He was a member of the Ohio State 8 man boat rowing team that went to Nationals. He has 10 years football experience, 9 years of baseball, 6 years of track & field, 4years of soccer, 2 years of wrestling, and has coached at the high school freshman level in football. Ryan has achieved district and conference honors in both football and track & field. “Health and fitness is my greatest passion in life. I’ve had the opportunity to learn from some amazing doctors and trainers who have trained professional athletes worldwide in a variety of sports.”
Peter Sayegh is beginning his fourth year as a finance major. He is a nationally certified personal trainer through the World Instructor Training Schools (WITS). He competed at a varsity level in basketball, soccer, cross country, and track & field. Peter has also participated in baseball, football, tennis, and swimming. Peter aspires to teach people about proper health and fitness since suffering from bulimia.
